Our safari will absolutely leave you with memories that last a lifetime.  With 3 night stays in Hwange National Park and Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe and 3 night stays in Blue Canyon Conservancy and within a 100square kilometre private concession in Kruger National Park,  South Africa this trip will ensure you make the most of every game viewing opportunity and still have time to relax and enjoy.  Come and join us  – a safari in Africa has been described as ‘humbling’ and  ‘life changing’ and without doubt is unlike any other trip you will ever do.

Day 1   25 March, 2024   Johannesburg, South Africa   Make your own way to Johannesburg.  Upon arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport we will make our way by hotel shuttle directly to our hotel.
Accommodation:  Peermont Mondior (or similar)  overnight  Breakfast included    Closely situated close to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, the hotel features 150 spacious rooms and suites which are all furnished in an elegant and contemporary African style.   Hotel guests have access to the casino, dining, entertainment, convention and relaxation facilities at the Emperors Palace Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort.   After checking in, the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2   26 March, 2024   Johannesburg, South Africa  –  Hwange, Zimbabwe  After breakfast we make our way back to the airport by hotel shuttle for our flight to Victoria Falls.  (airfare not included).   On arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, we will be met and  transferred  to Hwange.   If time permits we can visit The Painted Dog Conservation Centre before being transferred to our lodge.     Fewer than 7,000 painted dogs are left across the entire continent.  They may not be as famous as their trunked, horned, or maned neighbours, but these painted dogs —also known as African wild or hunting dogs—are beautiful, unique, and fascinating social animals. Painted dogs are native to Africa, and aren’t found in the wild anywhere else on the planet. They live in small pockets across a handful of countries including Zimbabwe, the home of Painted Dog Conservation. There are roughly 700 painted dogs here, and the Centre works with local populations of both humans and dogs—via conservation, education, and outreach programs—to help them not only survive here, but thrive.

Accommodation:  Iganyana Tented Lodge (or similar) 3 nights      Iganyana Tented Camp is ideally situated on a private concession close to Hwange National Park and overlooking a dry riverbed. Wildlife are on a constant parade past the camp on their way to a nearby water hole. The camp is nestled in amongst the shade of a teak forest and has been cleverly built using locally sourced material. In this way the camp blends into the surrounding forest.    The central lounge, bar and dining room area has a beautiful wooden deck with sweeping views over the surrounding plains. Below the deck is the fire pit and entertainment area. Entertainment is regularly organized in the form of a local group from Deka called Ingonyama. These creative actors do amazing impersonations of wild animals and traditional dancing.   Iganyana is entirely un-fenced and there is a perimeter of dead trees’ around the camp. This gives a sense of security when you sit and watch the Elephants walking right past on their way to the small waterhole in front of the camp.  As Iganyana is not actually in the Hwange National Park they also offer night-time game drives.

The large luxury safari tented accommodation offers 640 square feet of pure peace and privacy. All rooms have king or twin beds and en-suite bathrooms, as well as a separate dressing area, an indoor sitting area, tea and coffee making facilities, and double doors leading onto a shaded outdoor veranda. The sturdy steel-framed tents feature a double layer of canvas for additional insulation, and cool, polished cement floors topped with natural fibre rugs. Air-conditioning and electricity ensure your room is always bright, cool and comfortable.   Rates include all meals, beverages, 2 scheduled game drives on the concession per day, 3  items of laundry per day NB: Park fees of US$20.00 per person per day excluded and only payable directly at the lodge.
